International Youth Day

International Youth Day focuses on cultural and legal issues surrounding youth. It serves as an annual celebration of the role of young women and men as essential partners in change and an opportunity to raise awareness of challenges and problems facing the world’s youth.

August 12th was first designated as International Youth Day by the UN General Assembly in 1999. In 2019, the theme focuses on Transforming Education; making education more inclusive and accessible for all youth, including efforts by youth themselves.

The NWRHA has highlighted this year, healthy lifestyles through education and awareness for our youth including through the Healthy Me, Post-SEA session aimed at teaching 12-year olds the benefits of (1) Nutrition, (2) Oral Health, (3) Physical Activity and (3) Mental Health.
