The NWRHA has embarked on a series of preventative health interventions which are community-based and approach health in a holistic manner through empowering individuals to improve their health. This includes health fairs which offer free health screening services and a suite of health services aimed towards the early detection and prevention of communicable and chronic non-communicable diseases. In recognition of World Cancer Day, the NWRHA will be hosting three health fairs focused on Colon Cancer. The objectives for this activity aim to:
- Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages;
- Promote access to Pap Smears, breast exams and PSA tests;
- Emphasize the need for preventative screening for cancer; and
- Improve public awareness of different cancer symptoms with a special focus on colon cancer.
