Stacy Ward-Charlerie is a Clinical Informatics Pharmacist and current President of CEO of WardRx Consulting LLC, a firm providing consulting services for organizations seeking to use or improve health information technology to improve clinical outcomes, especially as it relates to medication management.
Her experience spans over a decade working in a variety of informatics roles, most recently at the U.S. largest health information network, Surescripts. While there, she led the growth and innovation of their Medication History product portfolio. She was also instrumental in launching the Critical Performance Improvement Program, working across the Surescripts Network Alliance to improve interoperability and the quality of e-prescriptions. Prior to her work with Surescripts, Dr. Ward-Charlerie held various titles while working for Kaiser Permanente focusing on clinical informatics, system configuration, and quality/safety initiatives in a managed care setting. Dr. Ward-Charlerie has published several works focusing on the interoperable exchange of healthcare data.
She currently serves as an adjunct clinical faculty member at Notre Dame of Maryland University, graduate faculty and George Mason University and precepts PharmD candidates from local Universities. Dr Ward-Charlerie is also is an active alumnus at Howard University School of Pharmacy, serving on the interview panel for incoming students and regular guest at their career day offering advice to students about residencies, life after pharmacy school and how to enter a non-traditional role as a informatics pharmacist.
She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Nova Southwestern University, her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Howard University College of Pharmacy and completed a PGY1 residency program with Kaiser Permanente Mid-Atlantic States. She also holds an MBA in Healthcare Management.
