Dr. Friedman graduated from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 2001 with honors research distinction. She then completed her residency in  ophthalmology at the Montefiore Medical Center. Following her residency,  Dr. Friedman  completed a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus at the Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital as well as the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary.  From 2006-2018 Dr. Friedman served as assistant professor of ophthalmology and pediatrics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and founded and directed the first pediatric ophthalmology fellowship in New York City.  In 2015 she joined the staff at ODA Primary Healthcare Network and in August 2018 she left Montefiore to assume the role of Director of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus at Bronxcare Health System.

Dr. Friedman has extensive expertise in pediatric ophthalmology, eye muscle problems in adults and children and pediatric cataracts and glaucoma.  She has performed thousands of strabismus surgeries and is one of a handful of pediatric cataract surgeons in the New York area.  In addition,  she serves on multiple committees in leadership positions on both the local and national level as well as presenting at conferences throughout the country.
