The Emotional Health of Children

Suicide prevention remains a universal challenge. Every year, suicide is among the top leading causes of death globally for people of all ages. Suicide remains a National Public Health crisis as Trinidad and Tobago has the third highest rate of suicide in the region. Every life lost represents someone’s partner, child, parent, friend or colleague. You are a key player in the prevention of suicide! You can make a difference – as a member of society, a child, a parent, a friend, a colleague or a neighbour.

As we adapt to a world altered by COVID-19 our levels of isolation, distress and anxiety increase. Taking a minute to ask someone how they are feeling could make a crucial difference, as human interaction is vital for our mental health and wellbeing. Remember to REACH IN, ENCOURAGE UNDERSTANDING, and SHARE EXPERIENCES. On September 10, join with us and many others across the world in by playing our part in the prevention of suicide.
